Classroom Organization: The Physical Environment

Classroom Organization: The Physical Environment - this website was created by Linda Shalaway, where she gave points and ideas of how the organization of the physical environment can help to run a "warm well-run" classroom.  Ms. Shalaway voiced that the physical layout of the classroom reflects the teaching style of the teacher and the classroom should be colorful and child centered.  Ms. Shalaway also stated that the desk placement should be arranged in a way that eye contact can be made and not just lined up in a neat row.  The desk should be arranged so the students are able to communicate with their peers.   Ms. Shalaway should said that the environmental preferences such as lighting, appropriate accommodation and the furniture arrangement.

Classroom structure Ideas - This website by Ms.  Elizabeth Lawrence presents great ideas for teachers on the structure of the classroom.  The writer, Ms. Lawrence stated that the structure of the classroom does not affect the effectiveness of the classroom but it also helps with the discipline and behavior throughout the classroom which will foster a positive learning climate.   Ms. Lawrence also mentioned that having labels and pictures for the children will help with organizing the resources and materials. Ms.  Lawrence website is very detailed and very organized, I like it because she presents a variety of strategies for teachers to use in the classroom.
